Progress to Date:
Crews have installed new storm drains throughout the Redmont Drive, Arcadia Drive and Crescent Ridge Road areas. Landscaping crews have begun constructing a new retaining wall on the south side of University Boulevard East and have added trees, shrubs and sod along the corridor. Workers have built a new turn lane from University Boulevard East onto Crescent Ridge Road and completed curb, gutter and sidewalk installation. Electrical crews have installed bases for new streetlights and continue to lay underground conduit. The new gas main is fully in place, all old gas lines have been removed, and new utility poles have been installed.
Next Steps:
- Irrigation and landscaping work will continue along the north side of University Boulevard East
- Sidewalk grading will begin on the south side of University Boulevard East near the former Jim Meyers Drug property
- Asphalt crews will pave sections near Crescent Ridge Road and along University Boulevard East
- Electrical crews will continue installing underground conduit along the south side of the roadway
Upcoming Impacts:
- Continued reduced lanes along University Boulevard East.
- Temporary road and intersection closures are along University Boulevard East.
