June 2026 Update

Progress to date

Crews have made substantial progress upgrading underground utilities and preparing the roadway and surrounding infrastructure for upcoming phases of construction. The new 12-inch water main is now fully installed between 30th Avenue East and 36th Avenue East, and significant storm drain and sanitary sewer improvements are complete. Construction of the north retaining wall is complete, and crews have added new curbs, gutters, sidewalks and driveways in several locations. Work continues to progress on pedestrian lighting.

Next Steps:

  • Continue work on the north side of University Boulevard East including curb and gutter installation
  • Water lines and storm drains will continue to be installed
  • Electrical crews will continue installing light pole bases and underground electrical duct banks

Upcoming Impacts:

  • The southbound lane closure from 34th Avenue East to just west of Crescent Ridge Road will be extended, shifting all traffic to the north travel lanes
