Progress
Significant advancements have been made on the new section of the road between North River and Oak Glen, including grading and stone base placement over approximately 3,500 feet of roadway. Paving for this section is anticipated to begin in October. On Rice Mine Road, work has begun to construct a portion of the tie-in in front of Randall Reilly and Coral Industries. At the SR-297 (Bryant Bridge) intersection, signal heads have been installed and the traffic signal is nearing completion. All sanitary sewer work on the project should be complete in early October. Bridge end slabs and barrier rail have been completed on the roadway bridge, and decorative railing is currently being installed on the pedestrian bridge.
Upcoming impacts
- Rice Mine Road north of the existing traffic signal will continue to have lane shifts and left turn lane closure
- The left lane of the SR-297 south diversion will remain closed
- A shoulder and turn lane closure will be implemented during October on Rice Mine Road south of the intersection
- Roadway work on the sides of existing McWright’s Ferry Road will necessitate intermittent lane closures in the fall

- Complete decorative railing and remaining bridge work
- Continue final grading, paving and grass seeding/sodding on the new portion of McWright’s Ferry Road
