Progress:
The Phase 1 and Phase 2 work areas are substantially complete. The northbound lane of Greensboro Avenue, the adjacent bay parking and the sidewalk between Gary Fitts Street and University Boulevard were reopened during the evening of Friday, June 5. Gas relocation is also complete. Demolition, sidewalk construction and utility work in the Phase 3 and Phase 4 areas are complete.
Next Steps:
- Roadway construction in the Phase 3 and Phase 4 work areas will be substantially complete by Friday, July 17.
- The 7th Street and Greensboro Avenue intersection will be reopened by Friday, July 17.
- The Gary Fitts Street and Greensboro Avenue intersection will be completed by Friday, July 17.
Upcoming Impacts:
- Northbound lanes of Greensboro Avenue between 7th Street and Gary Fitts Street are closed within the Phases 3-4 work areas until July 17.
- The inside southbound lane of Greensboro Avenue between 7th Street and Gary Fitts Street is closed for the duration of the project.
- The northeast quadrant of the Greensboro and 7th Street intersection will remain closed until July 17.
- The Gary Fitts Street and Greensboro Avenue intersection will be closed Thursday, July 16, until Friday, July 17.
- The southbound lanes of Greensboro Avenue between University Boulevard and Gary Fitts Street will be closed within the Phase 5 and Phase 6 work areas starting Monday, July 20.
- The majority of the sidewalk corridor will remain open along the west side of Greensboro Avenue between University Boulevard and Gary Fitts Street.
Pedestrian and local business access will remain open during the duration of the project.
