Progress
Work continues on each side of SR-297 (Bryant Bridge). A significant percent of the earthwork leading to North River is complete, and the right of way is beginning to take shape between SR-297 and Rice Mine Road. East of North River, preparations are underway for final grading between North River and Oak Glen. All girders on both bridges have been set, and the substructure of the roadway bridge is underway. Sanitary sewer installation continues on the new portion of the roadway.
Upcoming impacts
- This month, there will be periodic lane closures on the east side of McWright’s Ferry Road for water and sanitary sewer installation.
- Beginning in April 2024, there will be a lane closure on SR-297 and a lane shift on Rice Mine Road which may cause traffic delays. This is related to SR-297/Rice Mine Road intersection improvements.
Next steps
- Continue water & sewer improvements on McWright’s Ferry Road
- Complete bridge substructure and begin deck construction on both bridges
- Continue earthwork operations at multiple points on the project including south of SR-297, the new section of McWright’s Ferry Road approaching North River, and McWright’s Ferry Road south of Oak Glen
