Progress
Paving is complete on the right turn lanes at the Rice Mine Road and SR-297 (Bryant Bridge) intersection. Additional paving is in process to complete the access in front of Coral Industries. The contractor has focused on constructing the McWright’s Ferry Road tie-in outside existing travel lanes, and on additional widening of existing McWright’s Ferry Road between Oak Glen and Sierra Drive. Lighting for the pedestrian path is complete, and additional lighting and security infrastructure is being placed on McWright’s Ferry Road and Rice Mine Road.
Upcoming impacts
- A temporary detour was implemented at the McWright’s Ferry Road tie-in to allow the contractor to work in the existing travel lanes. Traffic will use a portion of the new road to access McWright’s Ferry Road south of Oak Glen. This detour began on February 27 and is expected to last approximately 3 weeks.
- Intermittent lane closures will cause minor traffic impacts as work continues on McWright’s Ferry Road between Waterfall Lane and Oak Glen Drive.
Next steps
- Complete paving work on Coral Court in front of Coral Industries
- Continue grading outside existing travel lanes on McWright’s Ferry Road between Oak Glen and Sierra Drive
